The aim of the focus campaign was to check compliance with the food law requirements for food contact materials and objects in household appliances and non-stationary water filter systems for the treatment of drinking water.
20 samples were analysed, seven samples were objected to, in some cases several times:
- The limit value for lithium was exceeded in two samples; both also with misleading information
- The acceptable daily intake limit for silver was exceeded by a factor of 2.8 to 4.0 in 4 samples; one of them with misleading information.
- Four samples were objected to due to misleading information suitable for deception
